The Angel Island poems reminded me a lot of the graphics made by artist Vienna Rye (website/instagram). I wanted to challenge myself and match some of the lines of the poems with art that they’ve made!
“Even while they are tyrannical, they still claim to be humanitarian.”
“America has power, but not justice.”
“I should regret my taking the risks of coming in the first place.”
“I bow my head in reflection but there is nothing I can do.”
“The low building with three beams merely shelters the body.”
