I thought it was quite interesting in the reading we did for class that they had mentioned, “…racism is far from eradicated and continues to plague the nation…” because that statement is still very accurate today in our day and age on how people color are treated by some adults and children. They mention, “Studies on the existence of implicit stereotyping suggest that the new form of racism is most likely to be evident in well-intentioned White Americans who are unaware they hold beliefs and attitudes that are detrimental to people of color”. That is a very true statement because you see people acting that way anywhere you go and they think nothing is wrong of what they said.
Racial Microaggressions and the Asian American Experience Reading Response
I think this is really interesting as well. I believe at the beginning of the study them mentioned how a lot of people believe that the civil rights movement kind of eliminated racism, which as we know is not at all true. I think its interesting to tie together this thought with what you said about how many white Americans are unaware of these microaggressions and this sort of different form of racism.
